I came across this article about MSXML compatibility issues. It presents the why and how of MSXML usage. Now that Ajax is on the ramp-up, the correct instantiation of MSXML can be critical.
And this will be particularly important on IE7, that no longer supports MSXML4 and 5 (without user approval).
It's a pity that MSXML didn't deserve the same treatment has XmlHttpRequest - integrated out of ActiveX scope, and into de facto standart. Will this ever happen?
